Testing and Validating Hub Operation in Cambrionix Connect
Cambrionix Connect offers a comprehensive testing facility designed to ensure that your hubs operate correctly and efficiently. This built-in feature allows users to perform a variety of tests, verifying the performance and health of connected hubs and devices. Below, we detail the available tests and their descriptions, including the table that outlines each test's purpose and effect.
Available Tests
The testing section within Cambrionix Connect is designed to ensure that your hubs are performing as expected and without issues. The following table lists the tests you can run using this facility, along with their descriptions:

| Test Hub's ID Response | Validates that the hub returns sensible information in response to its 'id' command. This includes checking that the firmware version is at least 1.79 and that it is in the correct mode. |
| ModIT Gate Configuration | For ModIT Pro hubs with lockable gates, this test verifies that the configuration is correct. |
| ModIT Gate Exerciser | For ModIT Pro hubs with lockable gates, this test validates that the gates open and close within the expected time and that their current draw is within reasonable limits. |
| Validate Hub Health | Checks that there are no hub error flags set. |
| Hub Settings | Ensures the hub returns sensible information in response to its 'settings_display' command. |
| Validate Port Health | Verifies that there are no port error flags set on individual ports. |
| Validate USB | Validates the hub's USB functionality. |
| API Validation | Ensures that the API is functioning and is of a suitable version for other tests. |
Testing Pages
The Testing section in Cambrionix Connect comprises three pages:
- Test Selected Hubs: Allows selection of specific hubs to test.
- Automatic Testing: Automatically runs all tests on all connected hubs.
- Configuration: Enables selection of tests to run in both Automatic and Selected mode and configuration of test values for passing criteria.
Conducting Tests
To conduct tests:
- Navigate to the Testing section under Settings.
- Choose between Test Selected Hubs for specific hubs or Automatic Testing for all hubs.
- In Configuration, you can customize which tests are performed and their passing criteria.
